Wireless at Oriel (Eduroam)

Wireless at Oriel (Eduroam)

You will need a Remote Access account in order to connect your computer to the College and University wireless networks. Your Remote Access username will follow the format <SSO>@OX.AC.UK, for example orie1234@OX.AC.UK. While your remote username will be the same as your Nexus email (SSO) username, the passwords, however, should be different.

Register for a Remote Access account at: https://register.it.ox.ac.uk/self/remote_access. You should be able to register for a Remote Access account before coming to Oxford on the web address above. Please note, it is the password set here that you will use with the above username to connect to the wireless.

Eduroam

Oriel offers Eduroam wireless in all its buildings and annexe sites. We strongly recommend Eduroam to all our Staff, Fellows and Students – once configured you can connect to this free wireless all over Oxford as well as other Eduroam hotspots around the UK and the rest of the world.

Connecting to Eduroam

To connect to Eduroam use your Remote Access password set in the web address above. At Oriel, we don’t recommend the CAT tool, and advise you connect to Eduroam manually using the instructions here: https://help.it.ox.ac.uk/network/wireless/services/eduroam/manualsetup/index. Please note again that your Remote Access username will follow the format <SSO>@OX.AC.UK, for example abcd1234@OX.AC.UK.
